Brooke and I moved into our new place and we have the best landlord. She runs city bike tours throughout the summer and offered to take us with her a couple weeks ago. We went around town to the islands near the city centre, the botanic gardens, and then over to the nature reserve. We got rained on pretty much the whole time we were out, but it was fun to see some new spots and to ride around on the bicycles.
After a week in the new place we are pretty much settled. Still waiting for internet and a few tweaks to the flat here and there, but it’s starting to feel like home. Our landlord hooked us up with a TV and DVD player so today we went out to buy some movies to entertain us while we wait for the WiFi to come in.
I realized this morning that we’ve already been here for almost a month! We have a couple weeks off in October which seems like it’s already coming so quick! Being at the schools keeps us so busy, it will be nice to have a bit of a break then and do some more exploring around other parts of Scotland. For now we’re still getting to know the city. Our place is just a couple blocks from the river and there’s a path that way that we follow that takes us over to the islands. It’s a really nice walk during the day, and there are always tons of people walking their dogs which is a huge bonus!
Our chill weekend feels much needed after a busy week. I feel like I could sleep now until Monday morning. Hope everyone has a great weekend, and thanks for reading!
