The Top Of Europe

From our little house in Wengen, we took the cogwheel train further up through the mountains to Jungfrau summit. This is the highest train station in Europe, and considered the “Top of Europe.”

We spent a few hours at the summit, exploring the mountain, taking in the views, and wandering through the ice castle there. We went into the couple gift shops at the top, including the cheesiest Lindt chocolate experience tour. There are also a few (very pricey) restaurants to choose from, including the self-serve cafe which we opted for. At 6 Fr. for a bottle of water we didn’t indulge too much, and opted to save our appetites until we got back down into Wengen.

One of my favourite parts of this experience was actually going back down on the train. The views from the window were incredible, and I loved seeing the wild flowers growing a bit further down the mountain. The train stopped right back in Wengen where we returned to our little house for dinner and a relaxing evening after our mountain adventure.
