Being home for the holidays was so much fun this year. I hate the idea of having a Christmas without snow, and home sweet home did not disappoint! December for me always consists of a lot of family time and a lot of eating. There’s been a few new spots that have popped up around Edmonton since I left in August so I tried to check out as many as possible while I was there. Obviously as the biggest Harry Potter nerd I had to stop at The Duchess to check out the gingerbread Hogwarts and hot Butterbeer! Although this isn’t a new cafe, it’s always a must do for me! My sister and I also went to Cacao 70 for some fondue and hot chocolate, and Ichiban for sushi and dumplings!
There have also been a few new parks that have been developed recently. The new End of the World is open to the public now and remains one of the best views in Edmonton. As well, ᐄᓃᐤ (ÎNÎW) River Lot 11∞ is open and gorgeous in the snow. My dad and I went for a really nice walk around there on one of my last days in Edmonton and I was so excited to see this art park here!
Getting to see my family was such a treat this year. We had a ton of fun on Christmas, dog walks, and dinners, and of course dabbled in a bit of Bird Box! I’m excited to be back in Scotland, but still counting down the days (178!) until the school year is done and I can see my people again!
