A couple weekends ago Brooke and I went to visit our Canadian friends, Courtney and Tyler, who are living in Portree. We left right after work on the Friday and stayed for two nights with them over the weekend. Spending time with this Canadian crew makes me feel like I’m right at home. We had the best time exploring some trails, playing board games, and trying out some local eats.
The bus ride from Inverness is around 3hrs, and is pretty bumpy. There are also a ton of things to see on the way, so driving by car would have been way more ideal! We arrived a bit late that night so went straight to Fat Panda for the best Chow Mein in town. In the morning we got ready to go for breakfast and a hike. We found the cutest waterfall before we made it to the trail and spent some time around there before starting the walk. I had spent all week deciding if I needed my winter coat since the forecast was looking gloomy, but we lucked out with the best weather since we moved here and I ended up sweating in my parka!
Portree is the most gorgeous town with so many nice views around every corner. If I wasn’t so much of a city girl this might be my dream home! I had so much fun with my Canadian crew and can’t wait to see them again. 🙂
